Aino stands for water, for female refinement and elegance.

Aino is a figure in the Myths of Finland. A young budding girl drowned in the lake when she goes fetching her bridal ornaments. She was called by the water nymphs. Her lover sees her again when he goes fishing. He is not able to catch her and remains inconsolable.

The waterobject ‘Aino’ was forged in silver with a highly polished inside and given structure outside. The graceful and purified object can be fitted on a contrasting Finnish Granite Rock.
Its function as water jug or as a vase, has to cope with its beauty as an object.

This waterobject was in the travelling exhibition ‘Twen in 2000’.
The Belgian Silvermuseum ‘Sterckshof’ acquired it for their permanent collection.
