As a side project of the big exhibition on ‘European Crown Jewels’ in the Tokyo National Museum, The Tokyo Diamond Museum also opens with a exhibition ‘east meets west’.

As a jeweldesigner from ‘the west’ Mieke Vranken was invited to be in the exhibition.
A lot of her jewels are inspired by an Asian / Japanese tradition. The spirit of typical and traditional elements is incorporated in a Western way of Jeweldesign and they are made with Western techniques.
