This Art project had one goal : defining 3 objects for the different states of being of Faust. Starting with the musical tale ‘la damnation de Faust’ by Berlioz, an personal approach to the evolution and the mind of the ‘Faust’ figure was created. Different cones with different connecting shapes, in combination with the used materials, colours and decoration, represent one stage each : ‘Intentions’, ‘Realisation’ and ‘The Fall’.

“La damnation de Faust” is one of many musical works in 19th century that was based on Goethe’s poem. This work is not a symphony, and it is not an opera either, even though it is a concert stage piece. It is considered a Dramatic Legend. It involves 3 principal singers, representing the 3 main characters of the story: Faust, Mephistopheles and Marguerite.
