Nara is located south of Kyoto and has several historical sites on the Unesco World Heritage list. The city has been Japan’s first permanent capital. Names as Horyuji, Todaiji and Kofukuji appear in most important architectural books. The magnificent constructions accentuate the relativity of life towards its environment. With the holy deer wandering around, a strange mixture of nature and culture brings about the weirdest feeling.
The perfect incorporation of the forest and shrines with hundreds of stone lanterns, overgrown with moose makes the mythical scenic spot for the Lantern Festival held twice a year.
