In the early 1950’s, the Bohemian artists quarter in Paris had made Saint-Tropez their summer quarters, and the famous writers, actors and painters brought the town a reputation that remains to this day. The reputation of jetset and mondaine people stands far away from its history. Its name is historically linked to the myth of Torpès, a roman centurian during the rule of Nero. Only the lay-out of the town reminds the 15th century organisation as an independent republic. The doors have their own story in this city. Behind the door there is another world; sometimes simple, often different than any outsider can imagine. The mix of historical and contemporary facts build a very special atmosphere in which a normal situation gets a diferent angle to be looked upon. What you see, appears not to be what it seems. |
